Our Story

Built by practitioners.
For practitioners.

We spent years doing OT risk assessments the hard way: spreadsheets, questionnaires, siloed reports that went nowhere. So we built the platform we wished existed. And yes, we're married. That's not a footnote; it's the foundation.

The Moment

The same problems. Every single time.

Before AnzenOT, we spent years managing and assessing OT risk across industrial facilities: manufacturing plants, utilities, critical infrastructure—across five continents, under different regulatory frameworks, with different threat profiles.

The same problems kept showing up.

Questionnaire-based assessments couldn't capture reality on the ground. Every facility was different, but the tools treated them the same. Cyber risk, physical security, and safety were evaluated in silos, even though in an industrial environment, they're inseparable.

"By the time a traditional assessment was complete, the threat landscape had already moved on."

— Kristin King, CEO

The result: expensive reports that sat on shelves. Compliance gaps that stayed hidden until audit season. And no practical way to model what would actually happen if something went wrong.

So we built the tool we wished we'd had.

What used to take months and six figures now takes minutes and a subscription. Not because we cut corners, but because we eliminated the parts that didn't add value.

Why Now

Safeguarding lives, not just data.

In OT, a breach isn't just about stolen data; it's about the physical world. A compromised HVAC system at an aquarium can kill marine life or endanger patients in a hospital. A malfunctioning control system at a food plant can poison consumers and affect employee safety. A disrupted utility can leave communities without power or water.

Critical infrastructure is more interconnected than ever. More is at stake.

We don't just look at risk through a cybersecurity lens. We look at risk across the whole system: per facility, per sector. If you're a food production plant, we're evaluating food safety implications. If you're a farm, we're looking at AgTech and connected equipment. If you're a zoo or aquarium, we're examining the HVAC and life support systems keeping animals alive. If you are a utility, we are evaluating health and safety risks.

Utilities Food Safety Industrial IoT AgTech Logistics Zoos & Aquariums Heath & Safety ... and More

Yes, regulations matter! NIS2, IEC6244, SEC disclosure rules, FDA, EPA requirements, etc. AnzenOT helps you meet them. But compliance is a floor, not a ceiling. The real reason to manage risk better is to protect the people who work in these facilities, the products they make, and the communities they serve.

We built this tool for the operators, engineers, safety, and security professionals who put themselves on the line every day. They deserve to be included in the risk management conversation and not treated as an afterthought.

Our world isn't just changing, it's upgrading. Traditional risk management needs to evolve with it. That means systems thinking. That means cyber-physical awareness. That means AnzenOT.

Kristin King

CEO & Co-Founder

Kristin King helps organizations understand cyber risk where it actually lives, in operational environments where safety, biology, and physical systems are on the line. Her work spans food production, advanced manufacturing, and global enterprises, with a reputation for bringing clarity to complex OT and cyber-physical risk. She is the founder of AnzenSage, host of the award-winning Bites & Bytes Podcast, and author of the forthcoming Wiley book Securing What Feeds Us: Cybersecurity in Food and Agriculture, which explores cybersecurity through the lens of food systems and critical infrastructure. Kristin is particularly known for her leadership in sectors often overlooked by traditional cybersecurity: food & agriculture, zoos, and aquariums, where risk is deeply human, and consequences are tangible. A trusted voice in industry and policy conversations, Kristin is a frequent speaker and advisor who connects technology, operations, and people, without fear-based messaging or jargon. Her work is grounded, accessible, and focused on making cybersecurity meaningful beyond IT.

Stuart King

CTO & Co-Founder

Stuart King is an OT risk architect and engineer who designs technology for environments where failure has immediate operational consequences. His career spans high-consequence roles, from fast-jet air traffic control in the Royal Air Force to executive security leadership and hands-on engineering across global industrial operations. As the lead architect behind AnzenOT, Stuart personally designed and built the platform to reflect how OT risk actually unfolds across safety systems, industrial processes, and cyber-physical dependencies. He has served as a CISO and senior security leader, with experience across automotive, pharmaceuticals, food production, oil and gas, electronics manufacturing, and semiconductors. Rarely found in a single person, Stuart combines OT risk leadership, deep security expertise, software engineering, and applied AI, bringing practical intelligence, not theory or hype, to how risk is modeled and managed.

Kristin and Stuart - Partners in business and life Our Wedding, Autumn 2025

Business partners. Life partners.

Yes, we're married. And no, that's not a liability... it's our superpower. When you're building software for critical infrastructure, trust isn't optional. We've spent years learning how to complement each other's blind spots, challenge each other's assumptions, and align on what matters.

Some might see married co-founders as a risk. We see it as the ultimate commitment: our finances, our reputation, our future—all on the same line. That's the kind of skin in the game that matters when you're trusting us with your facility's security posture.
